In a world where animal welfare is a growing concern, PECT emerges as a comprehensive solution, bringing together all stakeholders involved in animal care onto a single, user-friendly platform. PECT, short for Pet Care Taker, is a revolutionary rescue application system that empowers animal lovers, native volunteers, feeders, shelter homes, vets, and other concerned parties to collaborate seamlessly, ensuring the well-being of animals is just a fingertip away.

The existing challenges in the realm of animal welfare include fragmented communication, lack of coordination among stakeholders, delayed response times to emergencies, and difficulty in mobilizing resources efficiently. PECT aims to address these issues by creating a unified platform where all the stakeholders can collaborate, share information, and work together seamlessly.
The primary users of the PECT app encompass individuals devoted to animal welfare, including animal caregivers, veterinarians, and animal shelters. Additionally, the app caters to those looking to adopt animals as well as individuals surrendering pets up for adoption due to various reasons. Recognizing the diverse needs of these stakeholders, PECT serves as a unifying platform, facilitating seamless collaboration and communication among individuals and organizations dedicated to ensuring the welfare of animals.
After identifying key stakeholders for the PECT app, I conducted focused interviews with selected personas to delve deeper into their perspectives and needs. These personas represent individuals actively involved in animal welfare, including caregivers, veterinarians, and shelter representatives. The interviews were a crucial step in gaining insights into their motivations, challenges, and expectations.
How might we design the PECT app to be a more accessible and user-friendly platform, ensuring that busy animal lover like Ojaswini and veterinary professionals like Dr. Biswa can effortlessly participate in animal welfare initiatives, connect with the community, and seamlessly collaborate, considering their unique needs and limited time constraints?
Resource Mobilization
Facilitate the mobilization of resources, including volunteers, feeders, and veterinary services, to areas in need.
Public Awareness
Raise awareness about animal welfare issues, encouraging more individuals to participate in rescue and care activities.
To enhance accessibility, the app needed to prioritize content relevance, especially during emergencies, to prevent users from getting overwhelmed by complexity. Therefore, I focused on streamlining the user flow to be simple and direct, ensuring that users can quickly access essential features without unnecessary navigation.
The following wireframes helped me see how different layouts might work for app concepts and envision basic interfaces.
For the visual approach, I opted for Poppins as the app font due to its clean and modern appearance, which enhances readability across different device screens. In selecting colors, I drew inspiration from various animal skins to create a harmonious and soothing palette. This visual approach aims to evoke feelings of compassion towards animals while maintaining clarity and simplicity in design.
